Guido Argentini was born in Florence, Italy and studied medicine for three years at the university of Florence. At 23 he decided to turn his passion for photography into a profession and started to shoot fashion and beauty. Since1990 he has lived in Los Angeles and his photographs have been published in magazines such as Marie Claire and Playboy and exhibited worldwide, from Tokyo to Russia..

Argentini has published several books, all of which highlight different facets of the female form. In Private Rooms, he explored women behind the closed doors of ancient villas, modern apartments and hotels, from the most luxurious to the most squalid. In 2007, while looking for an innovative approach on a photo shoot Argentini was inspired to coat a model in silver makeup. The result was subtle grayish tones highlighting angles and surfaces in a way that was other-worldly. Inspired by the results, Argentini created a whole series of silver-hued models, uncovering a fresh perspective for nude photography. Evoking the luminous polished planes of Brancusi, these photographs endow the human body with both the solidity of sculpture and the vivid energy of dance.

The final collection of his silver photographs, Argentum, is a collection of more than 100 photographs of women and men: dancers, gymnasts and aerialists. Using geometrical props Argentini created a contrast between the human body and the archetypal forms of geometry: triangles, circles and squares. Using props, Guido Argentini contrasts the human body with archetypal forms of geometry: triangles, circles and squares.

Argentum is the final result of many years of work, a collection of more than 100 photographs of women and men: dancers, gymnasts and aerialists. Argentini’s aesthetic relies on the human form, and the athleticism of his models. He lives in Los Angeles, California. Guido Argentini’s work can be found in leading magazines throughout the word. His published books include: “SILVEREYE”, 2003 “PRIVATE ROOMS”, 2005 “REFLECTIONS”, 2007 “SHADES OF A WOMAN”, 2010 “ARGENTUM”, 2013.
