Susan Nalaboff Brilliant is an artist from New York who studied with Charlie Pasqualini and at the Art Students League. In her youth, she spent summers with her family at the beach in Springs, Long Island. It was here, looking at art in the Parrish Art Museum that her love of de Kooning was born. Susan was also a professional modern dancer and choreographer. Dance deeply informs her work and she is fascinated by the human form. She often depicts the human figure in abstraction, unabashedly reveling and revealing its essence. This painting is part of a series Susan started two years ago when she moved to San Francisco. Susan continues to work at Art Explosion Studios and is represented by Marsha Tarlow Gallery in New York.
