Phillip Hua’s work examines the relationship between nature and commerce. Images of birds, flowers, and animals are contrasted against a backdrop of stock indexes, representing the commodification of nature in modern life. Hua has exhibited his work in galleries, museums and art fairs internationally. He has representation in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Philadelphia and is currently creating public art for the 19th Street Oakland BART station.
