Karen Zullo Sherr (1944-2016) began painting after graduating from the College of Arts and Crafts in 1970. She used both landscape and the figure as source material for her work, primarily in acrylic on canvas. Often starting the painting plein air or from life, she would develop the final work in the studio.

Karen co-founded Re-Emerging Artists (REA) a network that offers tools to help members sustain a career in the arts. The collaborative East Bay Painting Group and the East Bay Landscape Artists are a tribute to her creative spirit.

In most recent years, Karen’s landscape and figurative work was shown at the Mythos Gallery and the Firehouse North Gallery in Berkeley, California.
